Isaiah 34: Hedonistic nations tarred in judgement but living-feathered faithfully.

1: Approach to hear, unbelieving nations! And to people, cause your ears to prick up.  The land and the full earth and all her offspring hears. 

2: For Yehoweh’s covenant anger is against all the unbelieving nations and His fury against all their parliaments. He caused them to be exterminated and He gave them to slaughter.

3: And their pierced ones are flung away. And their corpses raise a stink. And their mountains had been dissolved with blood.

4: And the heaven’s parliament was rotted. And the heavens and all its parliaments had been rolled up like a book/scroll. A leaf from a vine wiltingly wilts as it wilts from a fig tree. 

5: As My sword had been slaked in heaven, Behold against Edom ( Esau’s, southeast dead sea, those who gave inheritance for earthly pleasures, Jer 49:7 Amos 1:11 Dan 11:41 ) it descends and against people, my set-apart-thing (Kherem, Is 43:28) for judgement. 

6: A sword (kherev) to Yehoweh was filled with blood, had caused to be greased (khudashna from dashen =fat may be a Hofal 3fs perf not Hitpael) with fat (khelev), in blood of  fattened rams and of inner organ (kidney) fat of rams. For it is a sacrifice to Yehoweh in Batsra (Edomite city, modern Bueseirah in Jordan, Jesus as Judge goes from Teman to Botsrah Is 63:1, Jer 49:13, Amos 1:12) a great slaughter in Edom’s land.

7: And wild bulls descended with them and heifers/young bulls with mighty (stallions/bulls) and their land drank her fill in blood and their dust is greased in fat.

8: For a day of vengeance to Yehoweh, a year of recompense (shilum) for Zion’s dispute.

9: For her streams were changed to tar, her dust (afar) to brimstone (gapar – natural sulphur from dead sea volcanic rift). And her land had happened to be burning tar.

10: Night and day she was not quenched (kaba) forever.  Her smoke (gashen) ascended from generation to generation, dried up (karab), no one crossing over from perpetuity to perpetuities.  

11: And a pelican and a porcupine and an owl and a raven had dispossessed her and settle down in her**. And He stretches a line-measure* without form and her stones a void (without form and void is from Gen 1:2).

12: Not her noble/free-borns there in the kingdom call and her princes happen to be the end.

13: Pots of nettles and bramble had risen in her palaces. And  her fortresses happened to be the resting pasture of jackals/ sea monsters (why do tanim (8577) and yanah (3284) also occur together in Job 30:29, Is 13:22, 34:13, 43:20?) and a court of daughters of an ostrich (Why do banoth (1323) and yanah (3284) occur only together in Lev 11:16, Deut 14:15, Job 30:29, Isaiah 13:22, 34:13, 43:20, Jer 50:39, Micah 1:8? And always in relationship to a day of God’s Judgement)  .  

14: And yelping-desert-dwellers ((?Ibis from Qatar Is 13:21) come across the/time of hyenas (Is 13:23). And also hairy male goats (sa’irim – sin offering goat, idolatrous, hairy Esau Is 13:21) call out to their friends there.  A night creature caused to toss-about-before-settling-to-rest (raga, Jer 50:34,44). She had found a settled place for a place to rest. 

15: There a darting-snake had nested. She had slipped away and had broke-open and gathered-to-brood in her shadow. And kites were gathered-to-assemble there – a female with her mate.

16: Tread/Enquire over Yehoweh’s scroll/book and call out –Behold even one of these females and her mate were not arranged-in-order or had not been appointed (Is 55:11 – My speech shall not return empty, 1 Ki 8:56 not one speech has been cast down, my words shall not pass away Matt 24:35, not one small bird is neglected before God Luke 12:6)  For my mouth, He had commanded. And His Spirit  He gathered-to-assemble them.

17:  And He had caused to cast a lot for them. And His Hand had shared among them a line-measure* to the end of time.

They had dispossessed from generation to generation and settle down in her**.

Pause and think about that.

Prayer: 

Your bloody Sword O Yehoweh falls on nations which have chosen pleasure over covenant and turns them into wild life sanctuaries.  But Your Word never fails or returns empty and like You care for every single bird and it’s mate, how wonderfully You care for every hair on our head. Hallelujah.
