Jeremiah 50: Jesus, Word of God, speaks over Babel and Kashdim vs Israel and Judah

1: The speech which Yehoweh had spoken over Babel (confused, capital on Euphrates), over Kashdim land (from Kesed, Abraham’s brother, Nahor’s son, living in Iraq and likely also Babylonian. Kashdim and Mahdee mentioned together later (620-540BC)  in Daniel 9:1 and Daniel was studying Jeremiah (650-582BC). Babylon fell to Medes and Persians in 539BC, Shia Iraq supports Iran even now and has been attacked in the recent US attacks on Iran ) by the prophet  Jeremiah’s hand.

2: Cause emphasis among unbelieving nations and cause hearing and raise up an ensigna (cross?). Cause hearing and not hiding. Say Babel is seized. Cause to shame Bel (Baal’s nickname). Shatter Mrodak (Chief Assyrian God). They had caused shame to her idols. They had shattered her manufactured gods (religion had destroyed economy?).

3: For an unbelieving nation had risen up against her from the north. He makes her land a desolation. And it happens that no one is a dweller there – from man to beast they had gone to and fro, they had walked.

4: In those days and in her time, Word Yehoweh traverses. They, sons of Israel (?new covenant) and sons of Judah (?old covenant), walking as one, and weep and walk and seek the/time of Yehoweh their God.

5: “Way to Zion?”, they ask. Here are their faces. They traverse and had been joined to Yehoweh in a perpetual covenant and it was not forgotten.

Pause and think about that.

6:  My people happened to have been perished sheep. Their shepherds had caused them to err.  They were turned back from the mountains. They had walked from a mountain to a hill. They had forgotten their resting place.

7: All finders of them had eaten them.  All oppressors of them had said, “we are not committing wrong”. Beneath which they had missed-the-mark-sinned against Yehoweh’s abode of justice and the waiting-with-hope-place of their fathers (ie) – Yehoweh.

Pause and think about that.

8: Wander-off from amidst Babel and from Kashdim’s land.  Go forth and be male goats (sacrifice animals) in front of sheep.

9: For behold I am causing to wake up and causing to ascend an assembly of great unbelieving nations against Babel from northern lands. They had been arrayed against her. She is seized from there.  Their piercers (arrows/bullets/missiles) are like mighty warriors, skilled-experts do not turn back empty.

10: And Kashdim had happened to be plunder of all plunderers and they are satisfied.

(Signed off by The Word of God) Word Yehoweh.

11: For you are joyful. For you rejoice, destroying-plunderers of my inheritance. For you frolick in grass like a female calf and you bellow like a braveheart-bull.

12:  Your mother was very ashamed.  Childbearer of you was abashed. Behold the last of unbelieving nations  – like a desert, dry land (Tsi vs Tsion) and an Araba (steppe desert).

13: In Yehoweh’s splintering-burst-of-anger she is not inhabited. It had happened to be desolation. Everyone and all who cross over Babel are appalled and hiss over all her blows.

14: Array over Babel. All surrounding marchers cast a bow (cannon/launcher) at her. You are not to spare piercers (arrows/bullets/missiles) at her. For to Yehoweh, she had missed-the-mark-sinned.

15: Cause a surrounding trumpet-blast (ruah from thruah) against her. She had been given her hand. Her foundations had fallen. Her walls had been torn down. For she is Yehoweh’s vengeance. Cause vengeance on her.  As she had done, do to her.

16: Covenant-cut the sower from Babel, the sickle wilder at the/time of harvest in the face of a sword, an oppressor. A man faces his people. A man escapes to his land.

Pause and think about that.

17: Like scattered sheep, Israel’s lions had caused them to be banished. The first, king of Ashur,  had been eaten. And this, the latter, Nebukadrezer, king of Babel had been mighty.

18: And so says Yehoweh of Parliaments, Gof of Israel, “Behold, a holder-to-account- appointer of king of Babel and of his land as I had appointed-to-hold-to-account of king of Ashur.

19: And I had turned back the/time of Israel to his abode and he had pasture on the Carmel (fertile northern mountain with Nabal’s vineyard, Elijah’s showdown and Judah’s land) and the Bashan (half Manasseh land, East of sea of Galilee now Golan heights, southern pastureland slopes around Mt Hermon where the fallen sons of God came down, later considered Pan’s city and then Caesarea Philippi – the gates of death, the rock from which evil was thought to reign and through which one entered the evil kingdom but this is where Jesus says On this rock that He will build the church and Mt Hermon is the site of the Transfiguration) and in hill (country) of Ephraim (Joshua buried there on North Mount Gaash Judg 2:9, Samuel’s father Elkanah’s place 1Sam 1:2, has Bethel, Shiloh, Shechem) and the Gilead (Gal=waves* + ed= witness/ testimonies, Laban (Aramean/Syrian)-Jacob memorial cairn in East Jordan where Reuben, Gad and Manasseh have inheritances Amos 1:3). His soul is  satiated.

20: In those days and in that time Word Yehoweh seeks the/time of Israel’s futile sin (Aven) – and not one! And the/time of Judah’s missing-the-mark-sin (katha) – and it is not found. For I forgive whom I cause to remain (Esla lasher esheer).

21: Ascend against the land of double-bitterness (marathim – slang for Babel) – against it and against  inhabitants of appointment-to-hold-to-account (Pekod – symbol of Babel). Word Yehoweh, Lay-waste and cause to exterminate the latter of them.  And do according to all which I had commanded you.

Pause and think about that.

22: A battle sound in a land and a great shatter.

23: How he is felled and is shattered! How had a forge hammer of the land, Babel,  happened to be to desolation among unbelieving nations.

24: I ensnared you and also had you snatched Babel. And you had not  known the/time (when)you were found (out) and also laid hold of. For you had made yourself war against  Yehoweh.

25: Yehoweh had opened up the/time of His treasury. And He is causing to bring out instruments of His anger for it is work of Lord Yehoweh of Parliaments  in Kashdim land.

26: Traverse against her in the end. Open her storehouses. Heap her up in sacks. And cause her to be exterminated. Let nothing of her be a leftover.

27:  Dry up all her bullocks. They go down to the slaughter. Ayyo! For over them had traversed  their day for the/time of appointing-to-hold-to-account.

Pause and think about that!

28: A voice of Escapers and fugitives from Babel’s land had caused to be made known in Zion. The/time of Yehoweh our God’s vengeance – His temple’s vengeance.

29: Cause archers (missile launchers?)to hear over Babel. Bow Treaders (Marksmen) encamp against it, surround it.  Let there be no escape for her. Complete her according to her work. According to all she had done, do to her. For she had rebelled against Yehoweh, against the Holy One of Israel.

30: Therefore her young men fall in plazas, all men of war are silenced in that Word Yehoweh (=Yshua) day.

Pause and think about that.

31: Behold I, Word Lord Yehoweh of Parliaments, am against you, insolent one. For your day had traversed – the/time I had appointed-to-hold-you-to-account.

32:  And the insolent had stumbled and fallen and no one caused him to stand up. And I had caused a fire to be kindled in his cities and it had consumed all around him.

Pause and think about that.

33:  Thus said Yehoweh of Parliaments to  oppressed sons of Israel and sons of Judah, one and all. And kidnappers had caused to strengthen them and had refused to send them off.

34: Their mighty Redeemer – Yehoweh of Parliaments is His Name. He strivingly strives the/time of their strife (reev) in order that the/time of causing the land to toss-about-before-settling-to-rest (raga) and for causing Babel’s inhabitants to toss-about-before-settling-to-rest.

35: Word Yehoweh is a sword against Kashdim and against Babel’s inhabitants and against her aristocrats and her wise people,

36:  a sword against her boasters – and they were fooled,

and a sword against her mighty people – and they shattered,

37:  a sword against their horses and their chariots, against all the Arabs (mixed people) who are in their midst – and they had became like women,

a sword against her treasures – and they were looted.

38:  A drought against her waters – and they were shamed/dried up. For it is a land of carvings and they make themselves to hullabaloo (hallel) with terrors (Ayyo-m).

39: Therefore desert dwellers dwell with the/time of jackals and they had dwelt with daughters of an ostrich. No  longer does she dwell and not for perpetuity does she still dwell in it  from generation to generation.

40: Like God’s overthrow of the/time of Sodom and Gomorrah and the/time of her dwellers. Word Yehoweh does not dwell there, a man (ish) does not dwell in it and a son of Adam

41: Behold, a traversing people from the north! And a great unbelieving nation and many kings are awaking from a distant land.

42: They cause to strengthen bow and javelin. They are cruel. And they are not motherly-merciful. Their voice roars like a sea, arrayed as a man of war, against you, Babel’s daughter.

43:  The king of Babel had heard the/time of their report and his hands dropped in distress and had caused him to be seized in trouble as in childbirth.

44: Behold, like a lion ascends in arrogance is the Jordan ever flowing against a pasture. For I cause them to disturb and cause them to run against her.

And who is the macho-young man against her? I appoint-her-to-hold-to-account.

Who is like Me?  (Kimi kamoni)

And who appoints Me?

And who is this shepherd who stands in My Face?

45: Therefore hear Yehoweh’s advice which He had advised against Babel and His thoughts/purposes which He had thought/purposed against Kashdim land:

Surely He did not drag out the littlest of the flock.

Surely he was not appalled against their pasture

46: at the sound of (when) Babel was seized-by-the-hand and was quaked, the shriek of the land in unbelieving nations is heard.

Pause and think about that.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, Word of God, uniting wandering sheep peoples of the covenant (the church Israel and Judah) by forgiving their sin under Your Sign and destroying people who miss the mark, oppress and kidnap(Babel and Kashdim)  and You make a northern nation  to come to destroy them. Thank you for forgiving us. Amen.
