Habakuk 3: I rejoice in my Jesus, my God when He comes as Judge

1: The Intercession of the prophet Khabakuk (Hug-hug) about misleadings. 

2: Yehoweh, I had heard (shmaythi) Your hearing/ proclamation (shimka).

Yehoweh, I was afraid of Your acts in middle years.  

Come alive in middle years!

Make excitement / quaking known!

You remember motherly-compassion ( rakam).

3: God traverses Teman (from yamin, south West Jordan, northwest Saudi, traditionally academic, Ma’an in Saudi today, Jesus as Judge goes from Teman to Botsrah Is 63:1, Amos 1:12, Obadiah 1:9).

The Holy One from Mount Paran (gleaming, Moses sang that Yehoweh had caused shining from there Deut 33:2).

Pause and think about that!

Heavens had covered up His splendour.

And His praise (hallel) had filled the land.

4: His brightness, it is like His beam (horn) of  light from His Hand.

And there! His hidden power!

5: A pestilence walks before His face.

A fire-bolt goes out from His Feet.

6: He had stood and He measures out a land.

He had looked and He causes nations to leap and they dash themselves in pieces.

The everlasting mountains had bent down and forever walks in hillocks are forever His.

7: I had seen futile-sin (Aven) underneath Cushan’s (Ham’s son Cush who was Nimrod’s father in southern Nile / Ethiopia and adjacent Arabia?) tabernacles/tents and Midian’s (Abraham and Keturah’s Son’s people who settled south east of Jordan, became traders (took Joseph), followed a syncretic religion  (Abraham’s + Canaanite fertility religion – Jethro, Moses’ wife), fought with Amalekites against Israel Judges 6) land’s tent curtains trembled/fluttered.

Pause and think about that!

8: If Yehoweh’s had burned in the rivers?

If Your Temper in the rivers,

If Your fury in waters,

Then, You mount and ride (rakav) Your horses, in Your chariots (me rakav), Jesus (doesn’t need to be a feminine noun – it’s at the end of the sentence, alternatively chariots of Jesus)?

9: Your bow made naked and bare (תעוֹר labelled 3fs is more likely 2ms – usually share same prefix, ore and ariyah go together for naked and bare in Ezekiel 16:7,22,39 and 23:29).

Oaths (are) a speech of Your tribes/sceptres.

Pause and think about that!

You rivers – divide land.

10:  Mountains saw You and writhe.

Gushes of water had crossed over and given the subterranean/deep His voice.

His hands had lifted high.

11:  A sun and a moon (not ‘the’ indicates a phase of the sun/moon eg full moon/ new moon/ eclipse etc) stood in their habitation (?orbit) in light of Your arrows.

They walk to brilliance – (it is)  Your lightning spear.

 12: You march with mouth foaming in a land,

In a temper, You trample unbelieving nations.

13: You had emerged.

For Your Jesus (yesha, salvation, masc) people, for Jesus (yesha, salvation, masc) the/time of Your Messiah. 

You had shattered a head of a house of immoral wickedness (rasha), laying bare from base to nape of neck.

Pause and think about that!

Phew!

14:  Pierced by His Own Tribe/sceptre’s head leader. They raged. Their exultation was to cause to shatter and scatter me as they gobble up a poor person in secret.

15: You tread a path in water, Your horses a great many litres (khomer=220 litres) of water.

16: I had heard. My tummy trembles at a voice. My lips had quivered. Decay traverses my bones. Down below I tremble when I rest in a day of ascending trouble to people.

He raids  us.

17: Though a fig tree (Israel’s national/political conditions Hos. 9:10; Mt 24:32-35; Mk 13:28-31; Luke 21:30) does not blossom,

And there is no fruit on the vines (Israel’s spiritual conditions Psalms 80:8-10),

An olive ( Israel’s religious conditions Jer 11:16; Rom 11:17) grove’s produce is deceitful,

And cultivated fields produce no food,

A flock is cut off from a pen,

And there is no cattle in stalls,

18: And/Yet I rejoice in Yehoweh

I am joyous in my Jesus, my God (Yshi Eloheyi).

19: Lord Yehoweh, my Army/strength/efficiency,

And He sets my feet like deers’,

And He causes me to tread a path on my heights.

To a music director, for strings.

Prayer: Lord Jesus,  I am of good cheer during political, spiritual and religious Tribulation affecting the whole world,

For You, despite being pierced by the head of Your own tribe, have overcome the world.
