Malachi 2: Our royal levitical / priesthood covenant

1: And now this is the commandment for you, the priests:

2: If you do not listen and if you do not set upon your heart to give glory to My Name

Had said Yehoweh of Parliaments,

And then I had sent The Curse.

And I had cursed the/time of your blessings

And also I had  cursed you for no one had set their heart.

3:  Behold a rebuke of the/time of the seed to you:

And I had spread dung on your faces, dung on your feasts and lifted you up with it.

4: And you had known that I had sent the/time of the commandment to you

for it happens to be my covenant of the/time of Levi (reference to John the Baptist both of whose parents were Levite?)

Had said Yehoweh of Parliaments.

5: My covenant with him happened to be lives and the peace.

And to them, to him, fear. And he fears me. And before My Face, My Name, he is terrorised.

6:  Torah (Teaching) Truth had happened to be in his mouth and injustice/unrighteousness had not been found on his lips.

He had walked in peace and in straightness with Me and he had caused many to turn back from futile trouble (aven).

7:  For the lips of a priest watch over knowledge and they seek Torah (teaching) from his mouth for he is a messenger (malach) of Yehoweh of Parliaments.

8:  And you had turned aside from the way. You had caused many to totter in the Torah (teaching). You had spoilt Levi’s covenant

Had said Yehoweh of Parliaments.

9: And also I had given (made) you despised and low to all the people. Like a mouth with which none of you could watch the/time of My Way and the lifting up of faces from Torah (teaching). (Heads too buried in Torah to see?)

Phew!

10: Is there not one father of us all?

Had not one God created us?

For why was a man covenantally violated (?nifal of bagad) by his brother to pierce the covenant of our fathers?

11: Judah had violated covenant (bagad Qal Qatal 2ms not 3fs?) and an abomination had been made in Israel and in Jerusalem.

And Judah had pierced Yehoweh’s sanctuary / holy place which He loved and had mastered/married  a daughter of a foreign god.

12:  Yehoweh causes to cut off a man who does this awake and answering from Jacob’s tents and causing to bring up an offering  to Yehoweh of Parliaments!

Phew!

13: And this is the second thing you do:

Covering the/time of Yehoweh’s altar with tears.

Sobs and shrieking because there is no facing up to the offering any more or taking good will from your hand (ie barter of religious services)

14:  And you had said Over what?

Over that (which) Yehoweh had caused to witness between you and between the woman of your youth whose covenant with her you had breached.

And she is your

companion

and your covenant woman –

15:  He had not made (her?)

one (of them ie companion or covenant woman to you)

and a remaining  spirit to Him –

And which ‘One’ (the one) is seeking God’s children?  (1 Tim 3:12 re’ deacons, the Levite wife is not half companion to the priest and half in God’s ministry but  the Levite is wholly covenanted to her and both are wholly covenanted to God as one)

And you were watched in your spirit.

And you do not breach covenant with the woman of your youth.

16: For he had hated sending away.

 Had said Yehoweh of Parliaments.

And he concealed violence (Hamas) on his clothes

Had said Yehoweh of Parliaments.

(ie Domestic violence instead of divorce is breaching covenant?)

And you were watched in your spirit.

And you do not breach covenant.

Pause and think about that!

17:  You had caused Yehoweh to be wearied with your words.

And you had said, In what way had we caused him to be wearied?

By saying

‘all are making evil good in Yehoweh’s eyes and in them He had delighted’ (ie conforming sermons – not transforming) and

‘where is the God of Justice’ (ie questioning God’s sovereignty) ?

Prayer:

Our One Father, One Creator, One High Priest (Heb 4:14) who made one covenant with us to be Your holy Levitical priesthood (1 Pet 2:9), Your messengers, may we take Your caution to heart. May we give you only the glory, may we fear You, may Your Teaching (Torah) be in our mouths and no unrighteousness be found on our lips. May we live in peace. Give us lives of those who turn aside from futile evil. May we never  break covenant with our eyes open. For we see those apostate priests whose ministries are covered with dung, their celebrations covered with dung, cut off, their services weepingly solicited by barter, unfaithfulness, divorce and domestic violence in their homes covered up, preaching conformity and questioning Your sovereignty. May we be like John the Baptist, the archetype Levitical example you sent to show us the Levitical covenant of royal priesthood You have made with us. Amen.
