And I, in the first year of Daria-vesh (a title) the Madi (Japheth’s descendants), I stood up to cause to strengthen a refuge (from) him.
And now I will cause to emphasize the truth to you: Behold three more rising kings of Persia – and the fourth made rich with wealth greater than all. And by his strength and through his wealth he makes all the kingdom of Yavan (Ionian =Greece) wake up.
And a great king stood up and dominated with great dominion and caused favour.
And while standing he is shattering, his kingdom is divided into four winds of heaven. (He has) nothing to end with, none of his domination which he dominated. For his kingdom is being uprooted. And others besides these.
And a king of the Negev (south) strengthens – and strengthens from his prince and dominates with great dominion – his dominion – over him.
And at the end (Ketz – not Akri – latter) of years, a southern king’s daughter joins a king of the north, going to make it equitable. And she does not retain sustaining strength. And he does not stand. His strength is given (up). She and all those with her and those who birthed her and strengthened her in that time.
And a branch stands up from her roots, comes with an army and comes to a fortress of a king of the north and made them and caused them to be strengthened.
He (makes) their gods captive with their drink offerings, with their delightful silver and gold utensils and caused them to go to Egypt. And he stands up for more years than king of the north.
And a king of the south came to his kingdom and returned to his own territories.
And his sons cause themselves a stir and gathered (amplified) raucous (noise/crowd). Great armies coming came and overwhelmed and crossed over to return and cause a stir in his fortress.
A King of the south caused himself to be bitter and went. He was fought. With him, with a king of the north. And a great raucous (noise/crowd) was given to the raucous.
And when the raucous noise is lifted, his heart was exalted, myriads were cast down, and he is not strengthened.
and a king of the north returned and a greater raucous was caused to stand than the first. And at the end (ketz) of a time of years, coming comes a great army with great possessions.
And in those times they stand up to a King of the south and sons of violent ones of your people make themselves lifted up to a vision which they caused to make stand and they were felled.
And a king of the north comes and pours out a mound and takes a city, a fort. And arms of the South do not stand up. And chosen people have no stickability to stand.
The one who comes does against his will and no one stands up to his face. And he stands up in the pleasant land, annihilation in his hand.
And he sets his face to overpower the whole of his kingdom, he does the straight ones with him. He gives the daughter of the women to causing destruction and it is that she does not stand up for him.
And he turns his face back to the coasts and seizes many. And he causes a chief to come to an end – his reproach against them, not his reproach made to turn back to him.
And he turns his face back to the safe havens of his land and is tripped up. He fell and is not found.
And for that post stands one who makes oppression rise in the adorning kingdom and on days, one by one, it is shattered – but not in anger nor in battle.
And for that post stands one who is despised and to whom is not given royal honour. And he came and strengthened the kingdom with slippery ease.
And arms are swept away by the flood and in front of his face.
And a covenant leader also is shattered.
And after they make themselves unite with him, he makes deceit and ascends. He became strong with a few backers.
In peace and in prosperity, in Medina (provinces), he comes. He did what his fathers and their fathers’ fathers had not done: Plunder and spoil (Baz, Shala – cross ref Ezek 38:12,13 re Sheba, Dedan, Tarshish and the resultant backlash 39:10) and riches – he scattered (bazaar) them in his safe havens. He thinks his thoughts (or plans his plans) upto a point.
And he makes his stickability and his heart wake up to a king of the south with a great efficiency/wealth/army. And a king of the South makes himself stirred up to battle with an even greater and bigger efficiency/wealth/army. But he does not stand up because of plans planned against him.
And he destroys him to eat his choice food (pathbaag from Sanskrit prathibaga) and his efficiency/wealth/army is swept off and many wounded fell.
And the double hearts of the kings are for evil. They speak lies at one table but this will not progress because the end (ketz) is yet for an appointed time**(moed- an appointed feast v35).
And he returns to his land with great riches, his heart made up against the holy covenant, but he returned to his land.
At an appointed feast, he returns and went south – but it is not like the former or the latter.
And against him came ships from Kittim (Cypress) and he was disheartened and returned. And was he enraged over the Holy Covenant – he acted. He returned. He is understanding of those who forsake the holy covenant.
And armed forces from him stand up. And they pierced the sacred place and the safe haven. And they made regularity / routine to be turned aside. And they put the abomination to appall.
And to those who make evil against the covenant, he makes (them) profane by flattery (Kholkot).
But people who know their God are made strong and made out.
And people who made understanding (creative teaching) make many discern and were tottered by sword, and by flame, by captivity and by plundering for days.
But when there were tottered, there are helping helped for a time but many of them were joined up by flattery (Khola_kholkoth – double flattery ??) .
And those who made understanding among them (educators) were tottered to refine them and to choose them to be white till the end of a time because the end (ketz) is yet for an appointed time**(moed- an appointed feast v27).
And the king does his goodwill, makes himself exalted, makes himself great above every god. And he speaks extraordinarily against the God of gods and makes himself rush till indignation which is sharpened and which is done is spent.
And till he does not discern the God of his fathers, till he does not discern the love of women and for god – for he makes himself great above (them) all.
But in place, he honours a god of strongholds. He honours a god who did not know his fathers with gold and silver and a precious stone and desirables.
And he acts on stronghold fortresses
with his foreign god whose glory he made regarded and makes greater and makes dominated in many. And the inhabited land (Adamah) are divided for a price.
And at the end time, a king of the south makes himself gore himself. A King of the north makes a sweep with mounted rides, and with horses. And with many ships he comes to many nations (eretz-oth) and washes and crosses over.
And he comes to pleasant land /gazelle land and many are tottered and these slip away from his hand: Edom (red), Fatherland (Mo-ab), and heads (of) sons of Partners (Ammon – those with).
And he sends out his hand against countries and it is not for the country of Mitsarim (seiges -Egypt) to escape.
And he dominated over cumin (treasures) of gold and silver and all the desires of Mitsarim and Lubiyim (dry country – Libya) and Cushim (Ethiopians) in step.
And reports from the rising (east) and the north terrify him and he goes out in a great rage to exterminate and destroy many.
And he plants the tents of his palace between the seas and the mountain, holy and pleasant. And he came to his end with no one to help him.
Prayer:
As waves of time from heaven lap our shores, we await the end of (a) time. Help us to keep all our appointments with you (set-apart times of the festivals) so that we know when (a) time is ended.
The detailed stream of these events pass me by – unrecognized – as I know not enough of history to see who these kings are and the future is hidden to me. But these distinctions will end when time ends and some things which are completed already may recycle again.
We know the Main Past – and IT IS FINISHED. And That has made our future ongoing for us – onwards and upwards.
Thank You, Lord.
