1: To David’s music director
I took refuge in Yehoweh.
How can you say to my soul, “Little-hopping-bird, Flutter away off to your mountain?”
2: For behold the wicked bend the bow, direct the arrow on the bowstring in the gloom to shoot the heart of the straight*.
3: What did He do if the foundations of the righteous are being torn down?
4: Yehoweh in His holy temple,
Yehoweh on His throne in the heavens,
His Eyes gaze, His Eyelashes test sons of man.
5. Righteous Yehoweh tests.
He hates the soul of a wicked one who loves violence (Hamas).
6: He causes spring-loaded -snares, fire, to rain on the wicked.
And sulphur and a boiling wind of rage is the serving in their cup.
7: For righteous Yehoweh loves righteousness.
The straight* gaze on His Face.
Prayer:
You gaze at men up close, eyelash-to-eyelash, to test their straightness. The straight gaze back at You. You hate those who love violence and serve out sulphurous rage into the cups of tbe wicked, pelting fire down if the foundations of righteous are torn down, if arrows are trained on the straight hearted. Gosh, this is all too dangerous! I’m taking refuge in You, my Mountain!
