Jeremiah 33: God’s covenants are as eternal as day follows night! Mercy on God’s families and hostages who are caused to repent and turn back to Him.

1: It happens that Yehoweh’s teaching-word (dabar) comes to Jeremiah a second time while he was yet detained in a prison cell of the court saying

2: So said Making-Yehoweh, Fashioning-Yehoweh, The-One-Who-causes-to-establish Yehoweh-is-His-Name,

3: Cry out to Me and I will respond to you and make conspicuous to you greats and inaccessibles which you did not know.

Stop and think about that!

4: For so says Yehoweh, God of Israel (masc), over the houses of this the city (fem)* and over the houses of the kings of Judah (masc), the ones demolished towards the seige runways and toward the sword, (?air force and army),

5: Coming (conscripted) to be consumed with the Kashdim (Chaldeans are mostly the non-Iranian middle east), to their fill of corpses of the humans whom I had caused to slay in My temper and in My Hot Anger and from whom I had caused My Face to hide, in this the city over all it’s trouble,

6: behold, I (am to) fill it with restoration and healing.

I healed them.

I exposed an abundance of peace and truth to them.

7: And I caused the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to be turned back and constructed as at first.

8: And I cleansed them then from all their futile sin which they missed the mark -sinned to Me.

And I forgave them in all their futile-sins which they missed the mark -sinned to Me and which (they) rebel-sinned against Me.

9: And she* was to Me a name

for Sassoon – cheerfulness,

for Hallel-praise and

for Paereth-beautiful brave

before all the unbelieving nations of the land who hear of all the good which I am doing to them.

They feared and raged over all the  goodness and over all the shalom-completeness which I made for her.

Stop and think  about that!

10: Thus said Yehoweh, “Again is heard in this place of which was said

 ‘Kharab’ (desolate waste), it is without even a man and without even an animal in cities of Judah and in streets of Jerusalem;

‘HaN – Shamoth’ (plural of Shamen – appalling) without even a man and without even a resident and without even an animal;

11: A voice of cheerfulness

A voice of joy

A voice of a Bridegroom and

A voice of a perfect-daughter-in-law

A voice of

those saying

“Cause to praise The Yehoweh of Parliaments.

For Yehoweh is good all the time

For His Mercy causes to bring in praise to Yehoweh’s house.”

For I cause a prisoner (shavooth / hostage) of the land to turn back (from shoov) like the first time says Yehoweh.

Stop and think  about that!

12: Thus said Yehoweh of Parliaments again, in this place, this The Kharab, without even a man, without even an animal, and in all it’s cities,  a sheep- pen of the shepherds for flocks to lie-down-to-rest.

13: In the mountain cities

In the lowland cities

In the dry land (Negev) cities,

And in Benjamin’s land in Jerusalem’s surroundings,

And in Judah’s cities,

The flock cross over the hands of enumerators again (conversions and  membership in churches?), says Yehoweh.

 Stop and think  about that!

14: Behold! Coming days of Word Yehoweh!

I will cause to establish the good case which I promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.

15:  In those days and at that time I cause a righteous sprout of David to sprout. He made justice and righteousness on earth.

16:  In those days Judah is saved and Jerusalem (fem) dwells confidently.

And this what He calls out to her: “Yehoweh our righteousness”.

 Stop and think  about that!

17: For thus says Yehoweh, ‘An Uncovenant-cut man of David sitting on the throne of the house of Israel,

18: And the priests and the Levites are not covenant-cut in front of Me to cause burnt offerings to be lifted up and to cause grain offerings to be burnt and to make sacrifices on all the days.

Stop and think  about that!

19: And it happens that Yehoweh’s teaching-word (dabar) to Jeremiah is to say,

20: Thus says the Lord, “If you can break-off the day covenant and the night covenant and there is no day and night at their time,

21: also My Covenant with David my servant causes to be broken up from him having a son to reign on his throne,

And for the priests and Levites to minister to Me.

22: Whereas The Heavenly Parliament cannot be counted and the sand of the sea cannot be measured,

Thereunto I cause the seed of David My servant to be enlarged and of the Levites who minister to Me.

Stop and think  about that!

23: And it happens that Yehoweh’s teaching-word (dabar) to Jeremiah is to say,

24: Have you not seen what this people have spoken to say, two families into which Yehoweh had chosen, He abhors.  They blaspheme to my people, “there happens to be no nation before them anymore” ( replacement theology?).

Stop and think  about that!

25: Thus says Yehoweh, If my covenant for day and night, statutes of heaven and earth are not ordained,

26: then I cast away the seed of Jacob and David my servant.

27: In taking of his seed as rulers of the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

For I cause a prisoner (shavooth / hostage) of the land to turn back (from shoov)  and I have mercy (rakam) on them.

 Stop and think  about that!

Prayer:

Our hearts jump for joy when we hear that despite our wicked ways, your punishment notwithstanding, your covenants stand. All your people are covenanted as long as day and night are covenanted! What a reassurance that You have mercy on those who repent! Come to rule Son of David!

Amen.
