1: To the chief musician – for flutes. A David melody.
To my words cause to give the ear Yehoweh.
Discern my groaning (pleasure, anger, musings, predominating thoughts).
2: Cause to pay attention to my distress cry (SOS), my King and my God.
For to You I will make myself pray myself.
3: Yehoweh in the morning You hear my voice
In the morning I line up and peer for you at the viewpoint.
4: For not a lawlessness (rasha)-favouring God are You,
nor does trouble (ra’a) sojourn with You.
5: The hollerers (hallel) do not make themselves present themselves in Your eyes. You hate workers of futile sin(Aven).
6: You annihilate lie-speakers, a bloody deceitful man You abhor, Yehoweh.
7: And I, in Your great loving kindness, come to Your House, I prostrate on Your Holy Temple in fear of You.
8: Yehoweh, lead me on your righteousness for the sake of my hostile opposers.
Cause to lead my face in Your Way.
9: For there is no affirmative in their mouths, their gut is mischief, their throat an opened grave, they cause division with their tongues.
10: Cause them to be guilty, God, by their own counsels.
Cause them to be banished in their great rebellion-sins for they were embittered by You.
11: And rejoice all who take refuge in You, forever sing.
And You cover them and they, lovers of Your Name, exult in You.
12: For You bless the righteous, Yehoweh, like a shield.
With acceptance You crown (encompass) Him.
Prayer: Lord, we know You love and accept us even when You see us groaning deep and predominant gut emotions – both pleasure and pain. You listen to our rants and requests about those who bully or oppose us. Thank You for undeservedly covering, blessing and accepting us – notwithstanding who we are, warts and all! Amen.
