1: To a chief musician for a song of David for stringed instruments.
When I cry out, reply me.
In my tight spot (tsar/trouble), He made space (caused enlargement) for me.
Favour me, hear my plea.
2: Sons of a man, for how long is My Glory to shame? (Will) you love vanity? (Will) you seek lies?
Pause.
3: And know that Yehoweh sets apart the godly (kasid) for Him.
Yehoweh hears when I cry out to Him.
4: Don’t rage! You miss-the-mark-sin.
Say (this) to to your heart in your bed and shut up!
Pause.
5: Sacrifice (-kill, slaughter-) sacrifices of righteousness.
And trust in Yehoweh.
6: Those who say ‘Who makes us see good?’ (are) many.
Yehoweh (it is You who).
Raise Your Face Light on us.
7: You had given exceeding joy in my heart – more than their grain and their great new wine.
8: In singular peace I lie down and I sleep deeply for, Yehoweh, You alone cause me to dwell in trust.
Prayer: Lord, thank you that You save us from our tight spots of trouble and anger. Let us sacrifice righteously, and unlike cynics who see no good or are ashamed of You or who seek good elsewhere, let us trust Your Face Light to shine on us. Thank You for exceeding joy, singular peace and deep sleep. Amen.
