Exodus 33: A Messenger is sent to  bring  enemies into the promised land against the rebellious but Yehoweh accepts Moses’ argument and  the plan is that Moses is placed on The Rock to see Him.

And Yehoweh spoke to Moses (M + Ysha?), “ Walk out, Ascend. You and the people you brought up from the land of Egypt to the land which I had sworned to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob saying, “ I give to your descendants ”.

And I sent A Messenger facing you to drive out the Canaanite and the Amorite and the Khittite and the Perrizite, the Khivite and the Jebusite

into the land flowing with milk and honey. For I am not going up amidst you for you are a stubborn-neck people, lest I eat you up on the way.

And the people heard this unpleasant speech, they made themselves mourn and a man did not put on his jewellery.

And says Yehoweh to Moses, say to the sons of Israel, You are a stubborn-neck people. In one wink of an eye, I come up amidst you and eat you up. Now get your jewellery brought down from above and I know what to do to you.

So the sons of Israel got their jewellery snatched off by Mount Horeb (desolation).

And Moses took The Tent and stretched it outside the encampment, separate from the encampment and called it ‘The Tent of Appointed Time’ and it happened that all who sought Yehoweh came out to the The Tent of Appointed Time whxih was separate from the encampment.

And it happened that as Moses went out to The Tent, all the people stood up and a (each?) man was stationed at a door of his tent and made to look intently at Moses’ back till he traversed to The Tent.

And it happened that as Moses traversed The Tent, a pillar (Amod from stand – a column /pedestal to stand on) of cloud descends and stood at the door of The Tent and he / it talked with Moses.

And all the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at tbe door of The Tent and arose and made themselves bow down – a (each) man at the door of his tent.

And Yehoweh spoke to Moses, faces to faces, just like a man speaks woth a friend and returned to the encampment. And his minister, Joshua son of Nun, did not depart from The Tent.

Stop.

And Moses says to Yehoweh, “See, You say to me “Get This people up”. And You did not cause me to know whom You send with me. And You said,” I know you by name” and also “You have found favour in My Eyes”.

And, if you please (na), I have found favour in Your Eyes, Please cause me to know Your Way and I know You in order that I (continue to) find favour in Your Eyes and You see if This Unbelieving Nation is Your people”

And He said, “My Face walks and caused to rest (rest after labour – Hifil of Noah) to you.”

And he said to Him, “ If anyone is not walking in front of Your Face, do not cause us to ascend from here.

And in what is it known, then, that I found favour in Your Eyes – I and Your people –  unless You walk with us and we are distinguished (separated) – I and Your people – from all the people who are on the face of earth’s dust (Adamah – of human race)?”

Phew!

And Yehoweh said to Moses, “This The Matter / Word (dabar) which you enunciated /said (dabar), I am doing for you found favour in My Eyes and I know you by name.”

And he says, “Please (na) cause me to see Your Glory”.

And He says, “I cause to cross over (Hifil of avar) all my goodness over your face and I cried out, “In Yehoweh’s Name”in your face and I favoured whom I favour and I showed compassion to whom I have compassion.”

And He says, “ You are not able to see My Face for no human (The Adam) sees Me and lived.”

And Yehoweh says, “Here is My Place. And you are stationed on The Rock”

And it happened that in My Glory crossing over, I set you in a hollow (of) The Rock and I protected you with my palm as I cross over.

And I make my palm to be removed and you saw My Back and My Face is not seen.

Stop!

Prayer: Father God, may I never, in a moment of licentious weakness, melt my décor to worship a golden calf and cause You to let enemies enter my promised land. Rather, may I be faithful and stand in the hollow of My Rock, Yshua, that I may see You. Amen.
