Isaiah 5: The stinking Vineyard Song: Yehoweh loses His temper when He hears shrieks and killing ( instead of righteousness and justice) in Yshua’s Vineyard. His people spurn Him and become unproductive, undiscerning, addicted, hungry and parched. He calls nations to tear and slay them.

1: Let me sing, na (please),

to My Darling. A song of my Darling about His vineyard. My Darling had a vineyard on a hill (called) Oil’s son (BenShamen).

2: And He fences it and throws out stones and plants the best vine. And He builds a tower in the centre and also a winepress excavated in it. And He waits for it to make good grapes and it makes stinkers.

3: And now Jerusalem’s (shooting peace) inhabitants and Judah’s men, “Judge, na (please),

between Me and between My vineyard”.

4: What more to do with my vineyard that I did not do in it? For what reason did I wait for it to make good grapes and it made stinkers? (Matt 7:16-20,12:33, Luke 6:43)

5: And now you let Me know, na, what do I do to my vineyard? Turn aside its fence? Have it burned? Breach its walls? Have it trampled?

6: And assign it to waste? Not prune it? Not organize it? And (let) thorns and thistles over(grow)? And not command the clouds to make rain rain down on it?

7: For the vineyard of Yehoweh of Parliaments is the house of Israel (nation/institution) and the men (individuals/community) of Judah.

A plantation for enjoyment.

And He waited for Justice (mishpath)

And behold ritual killing (mispakh).

For righteousness (Tsadikah)

And behold a shriek (Tsaeykah).

Stop!

8: Ayyo! They cause to adjoin house to house, cause to approximate field to field till there is no more place to cause to be settled down in the midst of the land.

9: In Yehoweh of Parliament’s ears, even if there are many houses not empty, great and beautiful ones are without residents.

10: For ten acres (area unit for land, yoked pair for animals) of vineyard makes 1 bath (unit of volume – 10 baths = 1 khomer Ezek 45:14).

A Khomer of seeds make an ephah (actually 10 khomer should make 1 ephah Ex 16:36).

Phew!

11: Ayyo! They make (themselves) rise up early and chase hard drink till after evening breeze / twilight. Bubbly Wine makes them fired up.

12: And they had a harp, bagpipe (bag), drum (tambourine), flute in bubbly wine drinking parties.

And they do not cause to look at the work of Yehoweh.

And they did not perceive the doing of His Hand.

13: Therefore my people were uncovered, lacking knowledge, their glorious mature men (had) hunger, their parched hordes (had) thirst.

14: Therefore Sheol had been made larger (for) a soul.

And she opened her mouth beyond the legal (limit). And he descended. Adorned magnificence and their hordes (shamona), a roar (sha’ona) and a rejoicing – into it.

15: And Adam (a human) bows down

and a man is humble

And arrogant (gevo) eyes are humble.

16: And Yehoweh of Parliaments mounts up (geva) in judgement.

And The Holy (the) God is being ‘holied’ (sanctified) in righteousness.

17: And a male lamb pastured according to their words / pastures.

And in desolation a rich fat temporary resider eats.

18: Ayyo! Pulling punishable offences out (of a pit) with a cord of vanity (pretence/deceit) and a rebellion sin cart with a braided rope,

19: who are saying, “he speeds, he causes excited eagerness for the sake of his work in order that we see it. The counsel of Holy (One of) Israel draws near and traverses.”

Stop!

20: Ayyo to the callers (calling) harmful  good and good harmful. Establishers of darkness for light and light for darkness. Establishers of bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

Stop!

21: Ayyo to wise in their (own) eyes and appearing understood to their faces.

22: Ayyo to mighty, drinking wine and men efficient to mix hard liquor.

23: Making the harmful righteous  concequent to a donation and taking righteousness away from the righteous.

Stop!

24: So then, as a tongue of fire eats chaff, as a blaze weakens a root like rot, it happens: and a bloom goes up in fine dust.

For they spurned Yehoweh of Parliament’s Instructions and rejected Israel’s Holy One’s sayings.

25: Then, Yehoweh’s burning temper rose over His people and he stretches out His hand over them and causes them to be struck / slain.

And the hills tremble and their carcasses like garbage in the middle of a street.

(Even) For all this, He does not repent of His temper. And His Hand is stretched out.

26: He raised up a banner to the unbelieving nations from afar and whistled for them from the ends of the earth. And behold! They come swiftly and lightfooted.

27: Not one weary, not one stumbling among them. Not a snooze, not a sleep and not a loosed belt on their waist and not a broken lace on their shoe.

28: Whose sharpened arrows and all their bent bows, their horses hooves are reckoned as oppressive wheels, like a hurricane.

29: Their roar like a lion roar. Like a young lion snarls and  tears off a bit of its prey to make it slip it away (where)  no one will make a snatch at it.

30: And in That Day he snarls at them like the sea snarls.

And he looks intently at earth and behold! Oppressive darkness.

And light was darkened by a downpour

Phew!

Prayer: Lord, we repent. We see our namesake churches destroyed, our rebellious families torn apart. You are calling for our unfaithful nations who call good evil and evil good  to be darkened. What should have been our plantation of enjoyment with our Darling, we have exchanged for oppression, murder, corpses in our streets, thunderous hurricanes, earthquakes, terror from unbelieving nations, big empty houses. Sheol widens its mouth beyond its limit to make space when one more is thrown in . You are rising up in Judgement. Lord, we repent.
