Psalm 16: In Life and death, God is our goodness, our nightly educator, our allotment, our satisfaction and Joy.

1: David’s engraving:

Watch over me, God (El)

For I took refuge in You.

2: You(f) said to Yehoweh,

“My Lord, You are my goodness.

Lest over You

3: In holy-ones who are on earth  – and they all are majestic – I delight in them (as my goodness).

4: Hurts increase (on) hurrying to others.

Don’t cause to anoint their blood anointings.

Don’t raise their names up to my lips.

5: Yehoweh, my measured-out portion and my cup.

You are my allotment supporter-sustainer.

6: My territory-lines were laid down pleasantly.

Indeed, a beautiful heirloom upon me.

7: I bless The Yehoweh who counselled me.

Indeed, in the nights He educated my kidneys/subconscious/ innermost thoughts and feelings.

8: I constantly placed  Yehoweh before me for He is at my right hand*.

I don’t totter/slip.

9: And so my heart was gladdened and my glory exults.

Indeed my flesh permanently resides in hope.

10: For You don’t abandon/forsake my soul in death’s rest (Sheol).

You do not give your separated/holy one to see decay.

11: You cause me to know (yada-know by practice/skill vs b’een which is to know by thought):

trodden paths of life,

Satisfaction,

Joy in Your Pleasant Face,

Perpetuity in Your right hand*.

Prayer: Thank you for coming to wake us up and educate and familiarise us with eternal life trails and walks when we die Lord, or even when we are just asleep at night. You give us territory but You also ARE our territory. Praise You!
