1: Ayyo to her, a Lifter-up-of-self and Polluted, a city, an oppressor
2: She had not listened to His Voice. She had not received discipline.
She had not trusted in Yehoweh.
She had not drawn near her God.
3: Her princesses – roaring lions in her midst,
Her female judges – no bones crushed in the evening (are left) by dawn.
Her prophetesses insolent men!
Her treacherous priestesses profane the holy – they did violence to The Instructions (Torah).
5: Righteous Yehoweh in their midst does not do injustice. He brings light. He’s never failed. He’s never known the shame of injustice.
6: I have caused unbelieving nations to be cut off. Their chief corners (cornerstones) are desolated. Their streets lacking cross-overers (Hebrews- Avar). Their cities devastated (Tsadda) – lacking a man, not one resident.
7: I said, “If you fear Me, you receive discipline and are not cut off from her habitation. All for which I appointed-to-account her. Truly, they caused to arise early (like set an alarm) and caused their work to be corrupted.
8: For truly tarry for Me, Word Yehoweh – until the day I rise up. For My Decree is to gather up-to-harvest unbelieving nations, to gather-together kingdoms, to pour out My fury on them, all the heat of My temper. For with the fire of my ardour, all the earth is eaten up.
9: For at the time I transform peoples’ purified lips to call – all of them – on the name of Yehoweh, to serve him with one interscapular shoulder (where the yoke fits).
10: From Cross-over Ethiopian (Cush) rivers, My entreater-daughters, cause My tributes to be brought.
11: In That Day, you are not shamed for all you had done when you rebel-sinned (psha) against Me for at that time. I cause your exultant pride to be turned aside (forgiven) from your midst. And you will not cause your arrogance to be increased any longer in My Holy Mountain.
12: And I caused to remain in your midst, a humble poor people. And they shelter in the Name of Yehoweh. (Shem and Yehoweh together show that they will actually start saying His Name again)
13: The remnant of Israel do not do injustice. They do not speak lies and in their mouths is not found a fraudulent tongue for they pasture and lie down to rest and no one caused them to tremble”.
Pause and think!
14: Sing, daughter of a dry hill (Zion).
Split your ears, Israel.
Rejoice and exult with all the heart, daughter of Shooting-Peace (Jerusalem).
15: Yehoweh has caused to turn off your judgements, to face your enemy.
Yehoweh is the king of Israel in your midst. You do not see trouble any more.
16: In That Day is said to Jerusalem, “Do not fear, Zion. Do not enfeeble your hands.
17: Yehoweh, your God, is in your midst. The Mighty One causes to save (Yoshea). He rejoices over you with joy. He causes you to be silent with His love. He exults over you with singing”.
18: “I gathered-to-harvest the wearied for an appointment from among you. The burden had happened to be above reproach!
19: Behold I dealt all the afflictors in That Time. And I caused to save The Limpers. And I gather-to-assemble the banished. And I set them up for a song of praise and for repute in every land (where they were) shamed.
20: And at that time when I cause you to traverse and at the time I gather you to assemble, I give to you for reputation and for a song of praise amongst all the people of the earth. In turning back your captives, in your eyes”, said Yehoweh.
Prayer: Jesus, The Word of God, Yshua, our Hoshea (causer-to-Save), thank You for forgiving our rebellion and making us not be unjust. For taking away our shame. Light-bringer – You never fail. Give us a God-magnifying reputation and make us a song of praise. Amen.
