1: He who dwells in the hiding place of the High One
Makes himself lodge the nights in the Devastator’s shadow.
2: I say to YHWH, “My refuge, my (safety) net (Fisher of men!)”.
I am boldly/ carelessly/ complacent in Him
3: for He causes you to be snatched away from the bird trapper’s net, from perilous pestilence (words)
4: He causes you to be overshadowed with His feathers
And you seek refuge under his wings – Hook and Harness Faithfulness!
5: You are not afraid
of terror in the night,
of a missile that flies by day
6: Of a pestilence in the gloom
Of destruction that walks and devastates at noon.
7: A thousand may fall beside you and ten thousand on your right hand – nothing approaches near you!
8: However with your eyes you are made to look and see the retribution of the wicked ones.
9: For You, YHWH, my refuge, the Most High, have made your dwelling place.
10: No opportunity for evil and neither shall any plague approach your tent/tabernacle.
11: For He commands His messengers for you, to keep watch of all your ways.
12: They lift you up with their hands lest your foot strikes a stone.
13: you can march upon a fierce lion, a venomous snake.
14: Because he lovingly clung to me, I deliver him. I make him inaccessibly high because he knew My Name.
15: He cries out to me and I answer him, I (am) with him, I draw him out of trouble and glorify him.
16: I make him content with the length of his life.
And I make him see in my Jesus.
Prayer:
Lord Your Promise of Hook and Harness Faithfulness rings true in all those who dwell with You.
Not that they are are not caught in a bind, locked down in a pestilence, terrified and in the dark and by daily explosions, tripping over obstacles and walking towards wild danger.
But that – IN all that – You make them boldly complacent, You snatch them out of it, wall them in, show them that You are causing retribution on the wicked, sending them Your Messenger who catches them as they trip and revealing Himself to them!
Time and again, I have seen and continue to be shown this in family, generations, friends.
Thank you, thank You.
