Psalm 45 – the bride and groom’s song to their King

A lesson in song for a musician –

to the Susans (Lillies), from the sons of a baldy (Korah):

My heart was stirred to say a good word for a song for my Darling.

My tongue, like a ready pen,

a work for a King.

2 You are beautiful, beautiful more than sons of men

From your lips Grace is made to overflow

And so God blessed you forever.

3 Gird your sword on your mighty thigh,

Yours is The Glory,

Yours is The Majesty,

4 And Yours is The Majesty.

To ride Swiftly,

For truth, gentleness and righteousness

Caused to go forth  from Your fearful right hand.

5 Your sharpened arrows to the heart of the King’s enemies make Peoples fall under You.

6 Your throne,  O God, is forever and ever.

Upright sceptre, Your Kingdom’s sceptre.

7 You loved righteousness,

And you hate wickedness.

And so God, Your God, messiahed (anointed) You with Gladness Oil more than Your fellows.

8 Your clothes scented with Myrrh, Aloe and Cassia (bitter, sharp, healing aromatic roots, Indian cactus sera and powders), ivory, minnu made you glad!

9 Precious, ravishing daughters of kings are stood, a consort-Queen at your right hand wearing gold from India (Ophir).

10 Daughter, Hear, See, Incline your ear

Forget your people and your father’s house

11 And the King has turned His Desire to your beauty

Make yourself bow down to Him because He is your Lord.

12 Daughter of a rocky place (Tyre), rich People will seek your face, offering tributes.

14 Escorted to the King by virgins, followed by companions who beckon her to You,l

13 All glorious royal daughter with variegated clothes woven inwardly with gold.

15 beckoning her with gladness and rejoicing, they are entering the temple of the King.

16 Instead of your fathers, your sons will be made princes in all the earth.

17 I will cause Your Name to be remembered from all of a generation to a generation

And thus peoples will be made to praise You forever and in perpetuity.

Prayer: O Lord, what a privilege to see, Father God, the centre of the relationship of the Messiah Son and the bride He loved and desired! Amen
