1: And The Messenger (the Holy Spirit from chapter 2) who had talks to me turns back and makes me wake up as a man who is woken up from his sleep.
2: And he says to me, “What do you see?” And I say, “I am seeing and behold, a fully gold menorah and a bowl on top of it and 7 lamps in it. 7 and 7 pipes to the lamps which go up to the top.
3: And 2 olive trees go up, one to the right of the bowl and one too the left.
4: And I respond to the angel who talks to me saying, “What are these, my Lord?”
5: The Messenger who talks to me responds and says to me, “Do you not know what these are?” And I say, “No my Lord”.
6: And he responds and says to me saying, “This is the Word of God to ‘Born-in-a-mixed-up-place’ (Zerubabbel) saying, Not by efficiency, not by stickability strength but by My Spirit says Yehoweh of Parliaments.
7: Who are you, great mountain?
In front of Zerubabbel’s face, you are made a level / upright /straight place!
(Isaiah 40:4 quoted in Luke 3:5 – every crooked place (Yakav/Jacob) made straight, and of John the Baptist saying make paths straight Matt 3:3, Mark 1:3)
And he made you come to The Stone, The Head Shout-Outs.
Grace, Grace to it (the stone).
Pause and think.
8: It comes to pass that the Word of Yehoweh says to me,
9: “Zerubabbel’s hands founded this, The House, and his hands will cut it down”.
(Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” John 2:19)
And you will know that Yehoweh of Parliaments sent Me to you.
10: For who despised a day of the young/insignificant? And rejoiced and saw The Stone, The separation (alloy separated by refining) in Zerubabbel’s hand – 7 of these are Yehoweh’s eyes which dart through all the earth.
11: And I answered and said to him, “what are these 2 olive trees at the right and left of the menorah?
12: And for the second time, I answered and said to him, “what are these 2 train (offshoot) olive trees which drip into the hands of 2 gold spouts which make it pour gold upwards?
13: And he said to me saying, “Do you not know what these are?”
And I said” No my Lord”.
14: And he said, “These are 2 sons of fresh oil standing by the Lord of all the earth. (Rev 11:4 – the 2 witnesses are the 2 olive trees and candlesticks)
Prayer: O Holy Spirit, Our Messenger and Yshua, born in a mixed up place, who is temple which was cut down and raised – Yous olive trees are the givers of new anointing making us pour the gold of worship upwards to Yehoweh. No earthly mountain of efficiency and strength will stand against Yehoweh of Parliaments. Your 7 eyes watch. We are sorry that, like Zechariah, we don’t recognize who is anointing us even though we speak to You and hear You. Grace, Grace to You, our Cornerstone. Amen
PS
1. The distractor in this passage is that both the Olive Tree and Zerubabbel’s symbolism is not the usual.
2. Each of the 7 lamps are anointed and are able to burn because of the supply of oil from BOTH trees. The Father is worshipped constantly through the worshipper’s anointing from Son and Spirit.
3. Who are the 7 eyes? Those who are refined alloy (not pure gold!) in Yshua’s hand. The eyes’ purpose is seeing. Eyes cannot talk with words about what they see – they are only helpful if they are connected but they do “talk” by the way they appear. The way they appear are often an indication of the state of the soul and a powerful non verbal signal to the beholder.
4. The Stone/the Shepherd of Israel will come from Joseph according to Jacob (Gen 49:26).
In context of Israel rejecting Him, Jesus mentions both faith to remove mountains and the Psalm 118:22 reference to The Stone which the builders rejected in Matt 21, Mark 12 and Luke 20 (just after the withered fig tree and despite the preceding triumphal Jerusalem entry). He was probably living Zechariah 4 that day. We might be stones in the building but even Peter (the stone) says Jesus is the cornerstone (Acts 4:11, 1 Peter 2:5-7) and Paul concurs (Rom 9:33).
The Cornerstone grinds to dust (Matt 21:44, strikes and makes Israel stumble and the Stone is God (Isaiah 8:14). This the Stone Yshua is a divider of Israel into those who reject and those who are refined. Hence maybe why it inexplicably appears in the middle of a chapter about 2 olive trees.
