Hosea 12: Post script: Women and prophets in Israel, Vision and symbolism in Cna, Covered-one bitter and reproached.

1: Spirit pastured Covered-one

and the persecuting East

– he increases the lies and devastation all the day (long).

2: a charge of Yehoweh against God-Praise.

To attend to Heel (Jacob) and make returns to him according to his ways and works.

3: In the womb he heel-grabbed his brother.

In his virility, he strove with Elohim.

4: he reigns-in a Messenger and overpowers him.

He wept and caused Himself to be gracious to him in the house of El (Bethel).

He finds him and there He speaks emphatically with us –

5: And Yehoweh, God of Parliaments, Memorable Yehoweh:

6: And you return to your God.

Preserve mercy and justice.

And wait continually on your God.

7: With deceitful scales in his hand, humbled-one (Cnan) loves to extort.

8: and he said, Covered-one, I have become rich,

For myself, I have found virility (‘own’) in all my toil.

They will not find guilt (‘Avown’) in me which is sinful.

9: But I, your God, Yehoweh will again make you dwell in tents in Egypt as in the days of the appointed feast (?Sukkoth).

10: and I spoke to the prophets and I, I caused an increase in vision and I symbolize with the hands of the prophets.

11: Surely though bare-land (Gilead)’s wickedness (‘Aven’) is empty.

There are bulls sacrificed on their altars In Stone-circle (Gilgal), like heaped up, in furrows in a field.

12: and Heel (Jacob) goes through fields of Aram.

And God-Strife (Israel) serves by a woman.

And a woman watched over.

13: and by a prophet, Yehoweh made Israel to ascend (aliyah) from Egypt.

And by a prophet, he was watched over.

14: Bitter Covered-One made Him angry.

He leaves his blood on him and his reproach is made to return to his Lord.
