Hosea 10 : What Israel and the church did to get Him crucified and the contemporary end time result.

1:  GodStrife (Israel) is a vine emptying  (glug-glugging – Bokak  sound) fruit – making for himself an abundance (Krov) of fruit.

GodStrife made altars increase (hirba) in his land merrily (ktov), improved (hitvu) it with monuments.

2: Their heart was divided. Now they are offending.

He breaks the neck (yay-rof) of their altars.

He devastates (yeshded is like saying Shaddai-ing) their monuments.

 

3:  As now they say, “we do not have any king”

As we have no fear of Yehoweh

And The King – what is He doing for us?

(We have no king but Caesar John 19:15)

4: They made wordy speeches, vain swearing and cut (Karoth) a covenant. They shot out venom – judgement on the furrows of a field.

 

5: The calf of the house of vanity (Beth Aven) sojourns in neighbouring Samaria. For their people and their gurus (idolatrous priests)  were rejoicing for it.

 

They mourned because its glory upon it has been removed from it.

6: Also (there it goes) – to Ashur it has been made to be carried off as a tribute for ‘the Contender’ (Yareb) king

 

Shame on Covered-one!

God-strife shall be ashamed of his advice.

 

7: Destroyed Watcher (Shomron) – her king like foam (katsef) on the surface of water.

 

8: And destroyed sin’s platform.

Thorn and thistle aliyah (goes up on to) GodStrife’s altar of sin offering

9: From Gibean (9:9) days you sinned, GodStrife. They stood there. In the Gibean battle against the sons of injustice, they made them not overcome.

10:  For My desire is for disciplining and gathering peoples against them.

I imprison them for their two transgressions

(?glows is a misspelling – עינתם vs עונתם transgression).

 

( I couldn’t understand this section till I read v8 and remembered Luke 8:30, read v3 and remembered Jn 19:15. These cross references help to uncode the context – the first bit of this chapter is about the time at or after Pilate and Herod’s interrogation or the contemporary rejection of either the PM or the Supreme Court in Israel and the second bit is about end time events with some direct references also to contemporary events including 7 Oct 2023 which happened on the last day of Sukkot (Tabernacling v8), a Sabbath dawn and the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur war)

 

11: And Covered-one is a trained heifer who loves to thresh grain.

12: Sow Righteousness for yourselves

Harvest Mercy in your mouth.

 

Plough (Neeru) your  ploughing (field – neer).

For it is the time to search for THE Yehoweh till He comes and throws righteousness on you.

13: You all ploughed wickedness and evil.

You all harvested the fruit of lies.

For you trusted in your own path, in your mighty men.

 

14: And an uproar arose amongst your people

and your enclaves were despoiled (Shaddai-ed)

(kibbutz attacks on Oct 7 2023?)

As Salman despoiled  in the house of ambushing God (Beth Arab-el – house of the Arab god?? ??MBS in Saudi)

On a day of battle, a mother mowed down over (her) children (Oct 7 murder of children in front of their mothers).

 

15: This was done to you, house of God (Beth El to contrast with Beth Arab-El above), in the face of wickedness – your wickedness.

At dawn (? Uncharacteristic unpreparedness for Oct 7 dawn attack has not been explained by PM or IDF) the king of GodStrife (Israel) was silenced, silenced (nidmo, nidmah).

 

Prayer:

Lord unite our hearts and may we enthrone You, our King and banish the golden calf from our midst so that we may not be tricked into a false peace of human making which will lead to our demise from the very hands with whom we make this false peace.

 In these last days. May we sow righteousness (instead of wickedness) and harvest your Mercy (instead of lies) . May our nations, Israel and the Church repent and turn back to you that we will not have internal dissent and despoiled communities and that our leaders will not be silenced at dawn. May the church and Israel learn the lessons of the last day of Sukkot and turn back to You. Amen.
