1: Do not rejoice with joy like Israel and other peoples do. For you prostituted against God. You loved on hire on all threshing floors.
2: Threshing floor and wine vat will not tend you.
New wine in it will disappoint you.
3: You will not remain in the land.
Yehowah will return Covered-One to Egypt
And eat foul things in Ashur.
4: You will not offer wine to Yehowh.
And you will not pledge to Him.
To all those who eat Slaughter sacrifices it will be like the bread of the wicked. For it makes them defiled.
For their bread and their souls do not come to the house of Yehoweh.
5: What will you do on the appointed day of the Lord?
And of the feast day (khag = pilgrim feast not the moed (appointed) feast) of Yehoweh)
6: For behold they have gone because of the havoc.
Mitsarim (Egypt) snaps them up.
Mof (Memphis) buries them.
The value of their silver they possess – nettles. Brambles in their tents.
7: Days of visitation came.
Days of recompense came.
They know God-strife (Israel) is a fool.
The prophet is mad. Men of the spirit above which is great evil and greater animosity.
8: Prophet is spying on Covered-one with Our God, a snare and a bait, animosity with the house of his God in all his ways.
9: They ruined – made entrenched (ruin) – like in Gibean days (Joshua tricked by Gibean men into making peace and 5 kings are hanged in an ensuing war Josh 10:1-8. When a Levite’s concubine is killed in Gibeah, the tribe of Benjamin is decimated Judges 19-21. Saul’s home from where he declares war to protect Jabesh-Gilead 1 Sam 10-11: essentially war declarations and war after an unexpected attack. He remembers their evil, He punishes their sins.
Ponder that!
10: (Just) like I found God-strife as grapes in the wilderness, I saw your fathers like early season early figs on a fig tree. They went to the lord of open-mouthed mountain (baal of Mount Peor in Moab). They separate (make themselves Nazarenes) to shameful things, they become detestable like the thing they love.
11: Covered-One is like a bird making itself fly from their glory – From being born, and (indeed) from conception in the womb,
12: even if (Ki Im)they raise up their children and they are bereaved of mankind (may Adam),
Even then (Ki gam), woe to them.
For I am turning aside from them (may hem).
13: Covered-one whom I saw planted like Tsore (Tyre is a friendly supportive foreign neighbour but also a rock) in a shepherd’s habitation
And Covered-one who came out to slay his children.
14: Give them, Yehoweh, you are giving:
Give them bereaved womb and dried-up breasts.
15: All their evil was at the stone circles (Gilgal – sacrifice spot). For there I multiply hated over their evil works. From My House, I cast them off. I will not let loving all their rebellious princes be increased.
16: Covered-one was caused to be struck. Their root withered, fruit dried up. Even if they are making ( yasun?? From aser) and birthing, I caused their wombs’ treasures (Mukhammad) to be killed. Ponder that!
17: They will reject my God for they do not hear Him. And they are refugees among the nations. Ponder that!
Prayer: O Lord, we are guilty as charged. We can see why we are in this awful state as a church – we who were covered by your blood started calling shameful things holy and making meaningless ritual of communion and “christmas”. And we have no next generation – lost to contraception and abortion, no citizenship in your kingdom, and instead of being your bride, became a prostitute. We have gone the way Israel did. Now, even when we go back to the kingdom of evil from whence we first came to your kingdom, we are refugees. Woe, Woe.
