Hoses 6: What His death and resurrection asks of us – Don’t cross over! Return to Him.

1: Come!

And Let us return to Yehowah.

For He tore (Him)

And He heals us.

He got (Him) struck

And He binds us up.

2:  In days on a third day

He made us alive

He got us standing (raised up),

He got us alive – in front of His face.

3: and let us get to know, chase down the knowledge of Yehowah.

He goes forth like the dawn getting established (becoming proper day)

He comes like a downpour to us, like the spring and autumn rain on the land.

4: What am I doing with you, Covered-one?

What am I doing with you you, God-praise?

(3: Yada to know vs 4: Judah from Yadah to throw or praise)

(for) your goodness is like a morning cloud – walking away like dew at dawn.

5:  So then engraven by the prophets, the words of my mouth slayed them.

Your Judgements are like light (shining) forth.

6: For I delight in kindness, not slaughter sacrifice, and knowledge of  / knowing God more than whole burnt offerings.

7: but they cross over (Avru) like men in covenant there – dealing treacherously with (bagdu)  me (into)

8: a bare (Gilead) town made of evil, polluted with blood.

9: a band of soldiers lying in wait for a man, an association of priests on the way to murder, (going) to a ridge (Shekem – in northern Israel near Mt Gerisim, Abraham’s first altar as he came to the promised land, their family tomb, where Joshua got the people to covenant) to make a wicked plot.

10: I saw a horrible thing in the house of Israel – Covered-one’s prostitution defiled Israel.

11: Also, God-praise, a harvest was appointed for you during my returning to my captive people. Full Stop.

Prayer: Lord, we return to you to praise you because we want to know you intimately (3-6).  In the past we obeyed and crossed over to the promised land like Abraham and the Israelites returning from Egypt, but now you remind us not to crossover to a bare and bloodied city with Roman soldiers and a hypocritical priesthood to participate horribly in your crucifixion (1,7-11). We would have been fleeting like morning cloud and dew,  killed by your word and judgements sent to us by your prophets – if it weren’t for your ever increasing dawn light, for you harvesting us when you returned (3-5, 11). Thank you for healing and binding us up but thank you most of all for resurrecting us on a third day with Yshua (1,2).
