And I saw a new Ouranos … for the first ouranon had passed away.
Each ‘Ouranos’ may be a different translation.
Ouranos – singular – is heaven at an inaccessible height
Ouranon – Plural – is heaven canopy which covers, the tent which protects, the atmosphere which surrounds us
No longer is heaven an inaccessible height. It is what covers, protects and surrounds us.
And I saw a new Gen .. the first Ge had passed away.
Ge is also similarly separate in Rev 21:1
Gen – singular – a single inhabited, cultivated, boundaried area/region
Ge – plural – lots of countries / regions (but no internal boundaries in the new Gen?)
.. and the Thalassa (sea) is no longer.
Thalassa from salt (Hals) or tossing (als)??
No longer is there an uninhabitable uncrossable deep separate to earth and heaven.
Rev 21:2
The picture of the descending Jerusalem is a veiled woman (nymph means veil) prepared for her man. There is no wedding or bride and groom picture specifically apart from the cultural connotations of nymphen and andri. Strip that away and being veiled means we are not going to know who she is apart from the fact that she is coming down to meet her man (the only ownership mentioned here is that he belongs to her – not the other way around).
She is from the singular ouranou / the covering of protection (not the inaccessible heights). She descends from the covering above us which is there because we are being protected from things around us.
She is descending not from a superior place or from a vantage position of power. Because there is somewhere else where power is …
Rev 21:3
There is a thronou – a seat of power – could be a department, parliament, palace or authority – all meanings of thronou. A great voice (megales phones) from there – not a person, law book or army ie not executive, legislature or enforcement but – praise God – it may be a reformed media – which announces that, Behold, God now dwells with men – skene (noun) and skenosei (future indicative active 3 superlative verb) – being and doing.
Partnership is both ways though – He is – auton – of us as much as we are of His – Indicating that the man and the woman are covenanted.
Rev 21:4
Death no longer estai : Eimi from which estai derives is an “omni temporal” word for am. Separating body and soul in death, sadness / grief, clamouring shouts and outcries, toil, suffering and distress are all in the omni temporal category of ouk estai eti – not am anymore. So what are we doing dying, clamouring, shouting, toiling, paining, being sad, distressed and crying?
There is something to do if you are still doing the above:
Prota (tears, death, mourning, crying, pain) passes away: What passes away is not former – Prota – but the first older, important, prioritised things.
Also it does not pass away:
Apo (From) + erchomai (go or come) = aperchomai (go away after something). Prota is Going away or coming after something. This is conjugated in the interlinear as an aorist, indicative, active 3P.
This means that ‘Prota aperchomai’ needs doing – not passive waiting for it is passing away ie
Get rid of prota.
