Psalm 90 – ‘thousand years vs 70 years’, shoov (turn around) song of Moses at his second retirement

1: Dwelling place Yehovah, You were ours in a generation and a generation

2: Before mountains were born and the earth and world danced – From everlasting to everlasting (are) You, God.

3: You caused man to turn around to contrition/destruction, saying, Turn around sons of adam

4: For a thousand years in your eyes are like yesterday, like the recent past, a portion of the night

5: They were sleep flooding away in the morning, like greenery, passing away

6; Flourishing in the morning, passed away in the evening, incised (circumcised) and withered

7: For we are finished off by Your temper (flared nostrils), and terrified by Your rage.

8: You have set our guilt opposite You, our concealings are in the light of Your Face.

9: For all our days turn (squirm) in Your rage, our years finished in a moan

10: The days of our years within 70 years and if, because of strength, 80 years, their pride is labour and sorrow, for they pass away soon, and we are flying away.

11: Who knows the power of Your temper and the fearfulness of Your rage?

12: Cause us to know about the number of our days and cause us to go to a heart of wisdom.

13: How long (before) You turn around and have motherly compassion on Your servants, Yehovah?

14: Satiate us with your morning mercy, so we rejoice and are glad all our days.

15: Make us glad for the days You humbled us, for the years we saw evil

16: Your work and your glory appearing to your servants and to their children.

17: And let the beauty of Yehovah, our God, be upon us

and establish the work of our hands for us,

and establish the work of our hands.
